FAQ
Where is Kristen being treated?
At M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. M. D. Anderson has been ranked among the nation's top two cancer hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s "America's Best Hospitals" survey since its inception 15 years ago, and ranked number one 4 out of the last 5 years.
What type of cancer does she have?
Kristen has stage IV breast cancer with a main site of metatastisis currently in the liver. For more on the stages and their survival rates click here.
Does cancer run in her family?
No, prior to Kristen, there was no history of breast cancer in her family. She's also had a genetic workup, and the conclusion of their research was that it was not hereditary and that Kristen had never seemed to have exposed herself to any cancer-causing type of activities.
There's this herbal, organic, natural, anti-oxidant tea/vitamin/juice/enema and I heard it worked like a miracle. Has she tried it?
Most likely. We try to keep an open mind, so we'll go ahead and check some of them out. Just kidding about the enema, by the way.
Is there anything I can do to help? Meals? Babysitting?
Thank you for asking, you're very kind. It's precisely because of all the kind and loving people like you that we're faced with a shortage of needs right now. Both our families are local and very helpful with babysitting and errands (there's not enough babysitting and errands for them already). Meal deliveries from friends became too difficult for us to manage, so we appreciate the Central Market account that was set up - it's very easy for us.
The only other thing I can think of right now is that Kristen loves flowers and she especially loves peonies. Other than that, we need only your prayers.
What is your address?
Assuming your not asking so you can make a pop-in visit, here it is:
